January at Murphy-Harpst is a time for new beginnings, cozy activities, and embracing the beauty of winter. This year, we’ve already had a jam-packed month filled with fun, learning, and community. From exploring entrepreneurial skills to enjoying a winter wonderland, our residents have been making the most of the new year.
Soaps and Sisterhood with the Lady Unique Club
This month, the Lady Unique Club hosted an engaging and empowering session focused on entrepreneurship. The discussion centered around building a business, using the example of skincare. The ladies learned valuable lessons about not only how to generate income in a positive way, but also the importance of positive interaction and sisterhood. It was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to connect, learn, and support each other.
The highlight of the session? Soap making! Using a premade soap base, the girls got creative, adding their own personal touch with their choice of fragrances and colors. The result? Beautiful, unique soap bars that they could take pride in creating. It was a hands-on activity that fostered creativity and provided a tangible reminder of the day’s lessons.
A Winter Wonderland on Campus!
Mother Nature treated us to a magical surprise on Friday, January 10th! Our campus transformed into a breathtaking winter wonderland, covered in a blanket of sparkling snow. The day was filled with pure joy and excitement as kids and staff alike embraced the snowy landscape.
Snowball fights erupted, sleds zoomed down the hill, and ambitious builders worked together to create an impressive igloo. Even our horses, bundled up in their cozy winter coats, seemed to enjoy the festive atmosphere. The laughter and smiles were contagious, creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved. It was a true testament to the spirit of fun and community that makes Murphy-Harpst so special.
