Roots and Reach

Murphy Harpst is excited to launch ‘Roots & Reach,’ a new program empowering residents to become leaders. The name captures their dual mission: feeling rooted in community belonging while reaching outward to lead and serve. On February 9th, our youth took this mission to the Polk County Animal Control Shelter. This visit was a lesson in hard work and stewardship. Funds were self-earned through car washes and selling dog treats. After consulting with volunteers to identify urgent needs, our residents scoured the shelves to find the best supplies.
The impact of their hard work included:
- $500 worth of premium supplies delivered to the shelter.
- Donations of high-quality dog and cat food, medical pill pockets, dewormers, and kitty litter.
- A rewarding afternoon spent with “puppy and kitten snuggles” as a thank-you for their service.
We are incredibly proud of these young leaders for recognizing a need in their community and taking the initiative to meet it!
